Organization  Purpose

Spearfish Ambulance Volunteer Explorers (S.A.V.E.) began in 1994. Our goal is to orient students to the medical career fields with an emphasis on Emergency Medicine. Many students who apply for the program want to pursue a career in medicine without having seen what the job is like or what is available. This program shows the students a variety of fields and how they work.  Secondly, we show these students the importance of community service. Third, we work on the concepts of dealing with people and how to accept their strengths and weaknesses. These people skills will benefit the students throughout life.  Finally, we promote critical thinking skills, as an important step in learning about unusual situations, others and themselves. Our goal is to enhance the students “Team Building Skills” and a clean life style to help them in an ever changing job market.

If you have questions about the S.A.V.E.
Program please feel free to contact our office staff.
